I collect driftwood from the southern coast and bring it back to my hay barn in Thornbury, Southland and create works of art! Some people just see a piece of wood, but I see a hip bone or a jaw. It's like a big jigsaw puzzle. This can make it a challenging medium to work with as it’s already in a set and rigid state.  You’re not telling it what you want it do in order to create something, essentially it tells you what to do.
